On September 23, 2026, SMARTGEN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SONG PHUONG MT in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, covering POEN ESS supply, technical support and the joint development of energy projects. The two companies will jointly identify projects that combine solar power and ESS/BESS, building on SMARTGEN's ESS supply and engineering capabilities and SONG PHUONG MT's local EPC capabilities to expand their cooperation in Vietnam's energy market.

SMARTGEN participated as the BESS specialist partner in a 261 kWh commercial BESS project at Long Hau Extended Industrial Park, supporting system implementation, installation management, and operational preparation. SMARTGEN will continue to expand its C&I BESS business in Vietnam.

SMARTGEN and POEN held a business and marketing strategy meeting to discuss plans for expanding ESS sales, strengthening EPC partnerships, and accelerating the growth of the ESS market in Vietnam.

On August 19, 2026, SMARTGEN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VIỆT SIN ENERGY GROUP (VSEG) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to strengthen cooperation in solar energy, ESS/BESS, and related energy infrastructure. Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop energy projects by combining SMARTGEN's energy solutions and project expertise with VSEG's local business network, creating new business opportunities in Vietnam's energy market.

SMARTGEN, the exclusive distributor of POEN ESS in Southern Vietnam, took part in POEN's booth at ELECS Vietnam 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, presenting LiFePO4 energy storage solutions to local customers and partners.

On March 21, 2026, SMARTGEN completed its first residential solar and ESS project in Vietnam, featuring a 5kWp solar PV system, a 6kW SMARTGEN OEM hybrid inverter, a 5kWh POEN ESS battery, and Trina Solar panels.
