The support is calculated at VND 1 million for every 1 kWp of rated PV module capacity, with a cap of VND 3 million if no electricity storage system is installed. If a storage system is installed together with the rooftop solar system, the maximum support can reach VND 6 million.

To qualify, households need a source-development notice or a registration certificate for self-consumption rooftop solar under the applicable rules, and they must commit to using the system for at least three years after receiving the support.

The policy takes effect on 1 August 2026 and runs through 31 December 2030. Each single-family home can receive the support only once during the resolution period.
