261kWh Commercial BESS — Long Hau Industrial Park

SMARTGEN took part in a 261kWh-class commercial BESS project for a power consumption site in Long Hau Extended Industrial Park as the partner responsible for the BESS scope. SMARTGEN covered system configuration review, installation management, commissioning and operational readiness. The system entered operation in August 2026.

The system currently runs peak shaving aligned with the time-of-use (TOU) tariff. It charges during low-tariff hours and discharges during peak hours, reducing the volume of electricity the site buys from the grid in its most expensive hours. It operates on two charge–discharge cycles per day.

Since commissioning, SMARTGEN has continued to receive operating data and to tune the charge–discharge schedule and depth of discharge (DoD) against the site’s actual load pattern. Operating at a DoD extended to 90% with full discharge during peak hours, the projected monthly electricity bill saving is approximately 29.5 million VND. Actual savings vary with the applicable tariff and the monthly load pattern.

In this project SMARTGEN participated not as the main contractor but as the partner responsible for the BESS scope. It is a case of a commercial BESS carried through to actual operation at a site inside an industrial park.
