SMARTGEN Mixed-use Facility Solar ESS Project

SMARTGEN is developing a self-consumption energy system at its own mixed-use facility, where a café, workspace, and customer consultation area are operated together. This project is designed to integrate solar PV generation, battery storage, and hybrid inverter control in an actual mixed-use building environment.

The system consists of 11 PV modules in total, including 3 Trina Solar modules and 8 Longi Solar modules. Based on 620Wp modules, the total PV capacity is 6.82kWp. The system is connected with a 6kW hybrid inverter and a 10kWh LFP battery ESS to prioritize solar power for the building’s major electrical loads.

During the daytime, solar power generated from the PV system is used first for the café, workspace, lighting, refrigeration equipment, network devices, and other key loads within the building. Surplus energy can be stored in the ESS for use at night or during high-demand periods. In the event of a grid outage or unstable grid condition, the ESS can also provide backup power support for essential loads.

This project represents SMARTGEN’s direct application of a solar ESS solution to its own mixed-use facility, supporting energy cost reduction, improved self-consumption, and backup power capability.
